Vonnegut

Wikipedia tells me these were Vonnegut’s last published words:

When the last living thing
Has died on account of us,
How poetical it would be
If Earth could say,
In a voice floating up
Perhaps
From the floor
Of the Grand Canyon,
“It is done.”
People did not like it here.”
- Kurt Vonnegut in Man Without a Country

I have not read this one yet, but, because of it’s utter poetic pathos, I wished to bring it to your attention.

I won’t say I hate Vonnegut, because I haven’t read one of his books. But he does give me the impression that he believes he is superior. Which maybe true, but I don’t need it pointed out.
